Your data and BSEP26

Draft outline. The full text will be supplied by The Ben Orgenda Foundation before applications open.

01Who we are

The Ben Orgenda Foundation (BOF), registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, runs BSEP26 and controls the personal data collected for it.

02What we collect

Your account email and a hashed password. The application fields: name, email, phone, date of birth or confirmation that you are 18 or above, optional gender, state and town, the type of government ID you hold (never the number), business details and your answers.

If you are selected: a government ID image, proof of business address or operation, a passport photograph and, if registered, your CAC certificate. We never collect BVN, card or bank details, passwords for other services, PINs or one-time codes.

03Why we use it

To check eligibility, review and select applicants, run the programme, compute points, issue certificates and contact you about BSEP26. We process your data with your consent, which you give separately from the optional consent to use your name, photo and story in publicity.

04Who sees it

BOF staff who run the programme. Reviewers see only the applications assigned to them, and in the first round may see them without names or contact details. Reviewers never see ID documents. Applicants never see scores or reviewer comments.

05How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents are kept in private storage and opened only through short-lived links. Every admin action is logged. We back up daily and have a breach process that alerts BOF immediately.

06How long we keep it

Data from unsuccessful applications is deleted 12 months after the programme ends. Participant records and certificates are kept so certificates stay verifiable.

07Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@benorgendafoundation.org with "Data request" in the subject. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
